Children's Mental Health Week
As part of the Children's Mental Health Week, each class took part in many activities. At the start of the week, we had a whole school assembly focused on being ourselves. We looked at how we are similar before moving on to thinking about what makes us unique. We had some brilliant ideas from the children about what makes them special and unique and how we can celebrate this as well as our differences. We finished our assembly with some reflection time. Each class then took part in some activities which followed on from the assembly.
In Year 6, the children looked in more detail about what makes them unique. We focused on our personalities, traits and skills before 'filling our heads.' We each used an outline of our heads to fill it with everything that makes us special and unique. Then, we compared these to celebrate our differences and similarities. We also produced posters to help others understand what to do if something is affecting them and making them feel sad or upset.
Year 6 attended Rewind To Christmas at St Saviours Church. We braced the wind to walk there. The class were exceptionally well behaved whilst walking to church and were fantastic once in church. When there, we split up into small groups and took part in many activities including: A Christmas quiz; The Christmas story; Making a Christmas candle and Lighting the Christmas candle. We really enjoyed our time at Rewind to Christmas and would like to thank all of the volunteers who helped run the event! THANK YOU!
