NSPCC Buddy's Big Workout
NSPCC came to St Peter's and delivered their 'Speak Out, Stay Safe' sessions in our school assemblies and then our Year 5 and 6 pupils had the opportunity to participate in follow up workshops. The programme gave the children the knowledge and understanding they need to stay safe from abuse and neglect. Pupils were taught to speak out if they are worried, either to a trusted adult or to Childline.
As NSPCC is a charity our pupils wanted to offer our support so we held a school dance-a-thon where each hour we moved to a different song, we had lots of fun and managed to raise a huge £470. Claire from NSPCC came and presented the certificate in assembly and we all received a sticker and a badge for taking part.
Parents were also invited to an e-safety workshop about how to help keep their child safe on-line. Many parents attended and found the session useful.
